Building a Steel Structure in North Carolina: Permits, Zoning & What You Need to Know

North Carolina enforces the NC State Building Codes statewide with consistent enforcement and common-sense flexibility. Permits are required in all counties, but the process is well-established and predictable. Barndominiums face some zoning challenges in suburban areas but are accepted in rural counties.
