New York (NY) Permit Guide

Building a Steel Structure in New York: Permits, Zoning & What You Need to Know

New York has the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code statewide, plus NYC has its own entirely separate building code. Permits are mandatory everywhere. Upstate rural areas are more flexible than NYC metro, but the overall process is more involved than in most states.
