Building a Steel Structure in Minnesota: Permits, Zoning & What You Need to Know

Minnesota has a statewide building code that applies to most types of buildings. The Department of Labor and Industry administers the code. Heavy snow loads and extreme cold drive design requirements. Barndominiums are classified as dwellings and must meet residential code.
